Last week, Veggie Grill in Hollywood invited us to come try out their new menu. This was my first time eating here, even though it’s just minutes away from my office. I’m definitely not a vegetarian, but I do like a lot of veggie food and it’s nice to have healthy, delicious options.
The owner was a very nice guy who clearly has a lot of passion for creating great vegetarian dishes. He talked us through all the new additions and changes and let us sample some of everything.
The new bowls were both great options. The Bombay Bowl and Harvest Bowl were both really flavorful. The Thai-inspired flavors in the Bombay Bowl made it my favorite dish, and the field roast sausage in the Harvest Bowl was delicious.
Bombay Bowl: herb roasted veggies, super grains, steamed kale, cannellini beans, cilantro green curry sauce with coconut milk, almonds, and hemp seeds
Harvest Bowl: Field Roast sausage, herb-roasted veggies, super grains, porcini mushroom and miso gravy, hemp seeds
I also tried the Quinoa Power Salad which was a fresh and filling lunch option. It tasted good and I could see myself eating it and not hating myself after. I also tried the Mondo Nachos, which were pretty good. I will, however, stay away from the barbecue options I tried. As a Texas-raised, BBQ-loving lady I cannot actually recommend tempeh covered with BBQ sauce as a replacement.
Quinoa Power Salad: kale, avocado, quinoa, fennel, cannelini beans, carrots, almonds, currants, mint, citric dressing, hemp seeds
Mondo Nachos: corn chips, taco blend, mashed avocado, V-G cheese, jalepenos, soy cream
Thank you for having us, Veggie Grill! I’ll definitely be stopping by for lunch again soon.
DEAL: For a limited time, you can get a free entrée with the purchase of a $30 gift card. (It can’t be combined with other offers and offer expires 12/31/13.)
