30:SECONDmendations, Dogfish Head Chicory Stout

And now, Dogfish Head’s November/December seasonal beer Chicory Stout reviewed in less than 30 seconds! Ben and Drew agree: if you’re a fan of stouts and/or coffee, you should definitely check this one out.

What we recommend: A hearty beer, have this one alongside some turkey leftovers and just ride that food coma.

Pros: With other ingredients like licorice root and St. John’s Wort (!) mixed in there, this is a really complex and tasty beer. Drink it :)

Cons: It’s on the heavier side, so if stouts ain’t up your alley, steal a sip from your drinking buddy.

30:SECONDmendations, Dogfish Head Punkin Ale

Here is your review of Dogfish Head’s fall-only beer, Punkin Ale, in less than 30 seconds. Ben likes flavored beers more than Drew, but they both agree that this beer is yummy.

What we recommend: Drink one by itself first, and then make beer cocktails with this stuff. Some good cocktail ideas are here: http://goo.gl/BomD3

Pros: Great balance. An all-around good beer, and it tastes like autumn. Drink it :)

Cons: Pumpkin beers usually taste like pumpin pie, and this one is no exception. You had better like the taste of pumpkin before digging-in.

Dogfish Head Punkin Ale

Thanks our friends over at Dogfish Head Brewing for a couple of “preview” bottles of their Punkin Ale. The beer will hit the shelves for the season in October. Until then, we’ll drink the ones we have slowly. Pumpkin beers are great in cocktails and make you feel like trick-or-treating. I’m (Drew) not normally a fan of flavored or spiced beers. But this one is both, and I generally like what I’ve tried. We’ll be cracking these open soon in an upcoming video. In the meantime, enjoy some unboxing beer bottle porn in the slide show below.
