These #bacon cups stole the show in our “#appetizers” category! #thanksgiving at L.A. Foodie!
I use the internet for a lot of things, but buying bacon, or any meat products for that matter, is not one of them. Well, at least that’s how I used to be, until recently when Pig of the Month BBQ sent a box of goodies to my house. Now mind you, this was no ordinary box, as it was lined with thick Styrofoam and filled with dry ice. So, not only are they cleverly using science to ship meat, but when I opened the box a wave of dry ice mist flowed out giving a real mystical feel to the whole thing.
I know that we are called LA Foodie and not Orange County Foodie, but when I heard about a new gourmet doughnut spot I certainly wasn’t going to let geography get in the way. And it’s a good thing, because Sidecar did not disappoint. Not one bite!
What do you get when you pair eclectic dishes with strong-ass drinks? Fatty’s Public House in WeHo of course!
The former residence of Fatty Arbuckle is now a newborn gastropub on the west side of La Cienega Blvd, smack dab in the middle of Santa Monica Blvd. and Melrose Ave. If you weren’t that hungry on your way, you’ll be good and starved by the time you find parking. ($8 Valet)
Fatty’s is a bit fancier than our usual hangouts, but pinch your pennies and trust that it’ll be worth the splurge. Super mellow by day, hipster hot spot by night.
Let’s get down to business. The first thing I did was take advantage of their full bar. All of the signature crafted cocktails sounded great, but I picked “Life of the Party” because I’m modest. My wilder friend went for “Desert Hero” for more of a kick.
Do you like really BOMB organic food? Do you like a totally amazing brunch? Do you like quality service? YES PLEASE to all of the above. All of which we experienced at Cheeky’s for breakfast.
So, let’s take you inside and show you what’s great about Cheeky’s.
