Doodle Versus Doodle

I’ve been drawing people (bad) doodles lately. Here’s the thing: Buying an #IBurgerLA tee is fun, and receiving it in the mail is also fun. But waiting for it sucks. So to ease the pain of the wait, I draw (bad) custom doodles. The gallery of doodles is here, in case you’re curious.

I posted one to Facebook, and Big Jerk Patrick McGilligan (past guest of an awesome #LAFoodiePodcast that you can listen to right here:

…and the genius behind One Dollar Post It Art) seized the opportunity to belittle my art skillz.

I posted this:

Darth Vader Rides a Centaur Into Battle

And Patrick did this:

Moments later, I received a text message containing Patrick’s drawing:

Podcast 032 - Andie Bolt, Ty Ku Sake, The Melt, Sucre

Andie Bolt from The Nerdist joins the food dudes for a fun-filled podcast. The guys talk about The Melt before Brian brings some sake. Finally, Andie straps on the ‘ol blindfold for What Did We Put In Your Mouth? Will Andie be able to figure out what she’s eating? Will Drew and Ben give The Melt a raving review? Can Brian learn everyone some Japanese? Tune in and find out!

Christmas Traditions in L.A. 2012

What’s your favorite Los Angeles Christmas tradition? We asked eight past guests of the LA Foodie Podcast. Those stories are collected here for your enjoyment.

Do you remember this from last year? Since we’re all on Christmas Break (and taking some “me” time), we’re re-gifting our favorite segment from last year’s Christmas special. Feliz Navidad! A couple of things have changed since last year. For one, Elina Shatkin is now a Senior Editor at LA Magazine. And sadly, the hunky santas that Heather Thomson loves so much are not appearing at the Beverly Center this year. We also hear awesome Los Angeles Christmas stories from Jimmy Callahan, Paul Cibis, Liz Miller, Adam Campbell-Schmitt, Jude Shelton, and Patrick McGilligan.

LA Foodie Podcast 30, Kasey’s Kitchen

Kasey from Kasey’s Kitchen stops by to hang out with the Food Dudes to talk about easy, delicious eats. If you’re an audio type of person, then you’ll want to listen right here (unless iTunes is your thing or maybe Stitcher Smart Radio is your thing):

The entire video podcast, complete with DVD style navigation and menu (you can skip to any part of the show from any other part of the show—oh yes), is right here:

Ben and Drew raid Kasey’s Kitchen and try some tasty treats. Then Kasey gets blindfolded for What Did We Put In Your Mouth? and tries to guess what kind of cupcake she’s eating.
Ben and Drew talk pizza with the release of LA Weekly’s top 10 pizza list. They also chat about chocolate chip cookies. 3-2-1 Cake is piquing Lisa’s Pinterest. Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich and Spherical Ice Trays get LA Foodie Approved, and Olio features on Yelp/CounterYelp.

Here are links to each video segment of the show on YouTube:

  1. Intro, Pizza, Chocolate Chip Cookies
  2. Guest Interview: Kasey Potts
  3. LA Foodie Chow Time
  4. What Did We Put In Your Mouth?
  5. What’s Piquing Lisa’s Pinterest?
  6. LA Foodie Approved
  7. Yelp/CounterYelp, Outro

Here are links to other fun things:

Join Ben and Drew in a special minisode straight from Ototberfest! Alpine Village’s annual tradition of beer, food, beer, dancing, and beer comes alive in your earholes. It’s crazy, it’s a mite stumbly, and it’s a wee bit Drew-getting-molestedy… it’s OKTOBERFEST!
